Monitoring and Evaluations for Learning
Are we on track to achieve the results..?
What is this course about?
Keeping track of the progress of a project or programme is key in determining the success and relevance of development interventions. The set-up of practical and user-friendly monitoring systems will greatly assist efficient project management. The M&E system should be based on identification of the real information needs of an organisation and systematically collecting and using data for good decision-making. This course explains how to go about it.
PARTICIPANTS
This course is for professionals who are involved in formulating, managing or monitoring interventions; and those who prepare, supervise or participate in evaluations. Typically this would include desk officers, programme managers, task managers for national or local government, for an international donor agency or for an NGO. Participants should already have a good understanding on the Logical Framework before joining this course.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course will give you practical knowledge and skills how to monitor and evaluate projects, programmes and organisations. You will learn how to ask and answer common M&E questions, such as: Which information do we really need in order to understand our achievements on outputs, outcomes and impacts? Who determines, collects analyses and processes the data to obtain this information, when and how? How to efficiently integrate this into my organisational processes and management systems?
