Louie Gohmert Hits The Trifecta Of Ebola, ISIL, Climate Change In One Interview

Lots of conservatives have been lashing out at President Obama since the first case of Ebola appeared on American soil, but Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) hit the trifecta Wednesday when he dragged climate change and the Islamic State into the conversation.
In a brief interview with Newsmax's Steve Malzberg, Gohmert made the most of his limited time by suggesting the Obama administration was prioritizing climate change over responding to the Ebola outbreak or combating ISIL militants.
"This President, and this secretary of state, think that more deadly to this country than Ebola is climate change, more deadly than the Islamic State to Thomas Foley is climate change,” Gohmert said.
Gohmert presumably meant to refer to James Foley, the American journalist who was beheaded by the extremist group in a video released in August.
Malzberg had asked Gohmert about Secretary of State John Kerry's assertion that U.S. borders must remain open to allow medical assistance to flow to those areas affected by the outbreak of the deadly virus. Gohmert echoed several of his fellow conservatives in arguing that the Obama administration wasn't doing enough to protect Americans from Ebola out of a sense of political correctness.
“Countries that recognize that they have an obligation to protect their people regardless of whether or not its politically correct have done just that,” Gohmert said. “We used to have quarantines of serious diseases that would kill people. But this day in time, gee, we don’t want anybody to feel like they’re being left out. So therefore some of my Democratic friends, including this President, they want everyone to feel included. So let’s don’t quarantine, let’s don’t close our borders.”
