Globally people are in search of innovative and sustainable solutions to overcome the long-term challenges of food and energy security, climate protection, and the sustainable management of natural resources. With expected global population to reach 8.3 billion in 2030, excessive exploitation of all resources from rising demand for food and energy are no longer sustainable and would simply worsen the environmental problems and effects of climate change. The modern agriculture is not only to be able to provide more food of higher quality that meets the demands of an increasingly affluent population, but also to optimize resource use, minimize ecosystem degradation, and build sustainable and inclusive agricultural communities. Sustainable agriculture and the bioeconomy therefore offer two possible and complementary solutions for our modern agriculture.
Thailand, as an agricultural based economy and a leading exporter of several agricultural products, has been realizing the challenges of modern agriculture and importance of sustainable solutions. A call for knowledge exchange and collaboration internationally is one of imperative methods to tackle this challenges. Thus, we initiate this conference with the aim to attract up to 1,000 participants domestically and internationally.
This event will provide a platform where international researchers, policy makers and industry leaders can exchange ideas, learn from each other, and work towards shaping a global economy built on the principles of sustainable agriculture and the bioeconomy.
